Brief
A musical artist you love is rebranding, and they want you to art direct their new look. Design their new look, and include assets they can use for print, billboards, album covers and/or vinyl designs, and social pages.
Insight
Bishop Briggs has been at an emotional low point after losing her sister to cancer in 2021 and is publicly grieving through her social media channels.
Idea
Bishop Briggs will show the world that she has a soft side and is healing by channeling her witchy side.
Old Aesthetic
Bishop Briggs’s old aesthetic was a hard, edgy, gothic style that favored black, white and red colors.
It consisted of blackletter typefaces, high contrast lighting, and low light photos which has her come across as tough, mysterious and detached from her audience.
New Design Rebrand
This rebrand uses a rounder, heavy typeface that’s softer than the blackletter fonts while also utilizing a more vibrant color palette.
This aesthetic is magical, glowing and ethereal which comes across as more genuine and happier to viewers compared to her previous aesthetic.
Why Witching Hour?
Bishop openly calls herself a witch and for years her bio had, “witchy songwriter who has never technically cast any spells successfully.”
She will occasionally post photos of her candles and altars, but despite all of this, she has never tapped into her witchy energy when it comes to her music and that’s where this rebrand will go.
Bishop will tap into this new witchy aesthetic and show the world that she is healing and evolving, especially after the birth of her first child.
Bewitched Playlists
For the release of her new album, Witching Hour, Bishop will partner with Spotify to make four Bewitched Playlists: one for Love, Healing, Money and Emotional Wellbeing.
Bishop will curate these playlists with songs that uniquely suit each vibe and get real witches to cast specialized spells onto each of the playlists.
These rituals will be recorded via IG Live so anyone can watch the magic happen. Once these Bewitched Playlists are live and someone listens to an entire playlist, a special witchy emoji will then be added to their profile name on Spotify to show that the spell is in full effect.
AR Spotify Canvases
To really show off Bishop’s witchiness, the Spotify Canvases for Witching Hour will, if chosen to, summon Bishop to show up wherever you are through a holographic projection/3D effect.
Magical Merch
As merch for Witching Hour, Bishop will release a magical charm bracelet with charms that when tapped on with smart devices, can play your favorite designated songs on Spotify with NFC technology.
You can change the registered songs through Spotify and customize to your liking.
